Role Descriptions

St Mary and St Cuthbert Church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. All post holders and volunteers who work with children and vulnerable adults are subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, which may include a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists check, references and safeguarding training. The first part of the volunteering process is being aware of what the role you are volunteering for involves. A list of role descriptions and person specifications can be downloaded below.

DBS Check

For any of the above roles that require a DBS check, the church uses the online check via the link below. Please check with Jan Rowland our DBS administrator for instructions and what type of DBS check you require for your role.

Confidential Declaration

For any of the above roles, volunteers are required to complete a confidential declaration. This will be sent to the Parish Safeguarding Officer and kept with each volunteer’s safeguarding file. To complete the confidential declaration, please click below.

Volunteer Reference Form
