Mission and Community Minister
The Bishop of Durham is looking to appoint a Mission and Community Minister for Chester-le-Street.
This is a 5-year post.
St Mary and St Cuthbert Church is both a historically significant and a vibrant church that engages with over 1000 members of the community each week. The only Anglican church serving a town of over 25,000 people, the church is keen to see deeper connections of discipleship and faith exploration through its activities, ministries and community engagement. The Mission and Community Minister will be an ordained minister who will work in line with the church’s vision and values and build upon the existing foundations of this community work, developing and strengthening missional and evangelistic opportunities.
This work will be supported by an encouraging Rector, staff team and committed group of volunteers. The role comes with a significant amount of opportunity and freedom to develop ministry in Chester-le-Street. We are therefore looking for someone with an evangelistic heart, who is prayerful, discerning, pioneering and creative.
