The Mothers' Union was founded in 1876 by Mary
Sumner, the wife of George, who was a curate in Hampshire.
As
they moved to many different parishes the news of The Mothers' Union spread.
It's primary aims were Christian teaching for children, fellowship between all mothers and neighbourly
love.
Today, the main purpose of The Mothers' Union is
to strengthen and preserve marriage and Christian family life.
The heartbeat of
The Mothers' Union is its commitment to prayer; and to maintaining a world wide
fellowship of Christians.
Members offer a wide variety of help and support to each other, the Church and to the community.
Membership is open to ALL who have
been baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity and intend to support and work for
the aims, purposes and objects of the society.
