Our parish has a tradition of lay involvement, both in the leading of worship
and in the mission of its Church.
The parish of Chester-le-Street is
geographically large and nearly 30 years ago additional churches
were "planted" in various parts of it.
Services are therefore held both in the
main
church building and in these additional churches (The "Area
Services"). Sometimes the Parish Centre, opposite the church, is
used.
Smaller groups meet in in each others homes,
during the week, for worship, prayer, bible study and to encourage each other
in their faith ("Home groups").
There is a Sunday School at Pelton Fell village.
